Beef Production and Exports The size and value of beef production and exports have continued to rise world wide, creating avenues for new jobs and foreign exchange. However, the top four beef exporting countries account for about a whopping 70 percent of global exports. This is extraordinary. ANSWERS South Africa is the largest producer of beef in Africa, with 825,000 metric tonnes in 2014, ranking number 13 in the world in production. 1-Although the United States of America is the number one beef producing country in the world, with 11.2 million metric tonnes in 2014, 2-Brazil is the largest exporter of beef globally, shipping out over 1.8 million metric tonnes in 2013, and this representing about 20 percent of the world's total. As mentioned earlier, these top four countries here accounted for around a whopping 70 percent of the global export of beef in 2014.
